Nagar Darwaja

Nagar Darwaja

Nagar Darwaja — also known as Nehru Gate — is a historic gateway and landmark in Morbi (Morvi), Gujarat. Originally called Nagar Darwaza (meaning “city gate”), it was the central entrance to the old Morbi town during the era of the princely state. In 1925, it was inaugurated by the British Governor and later renamed Nehru Gate after India’s first Prime Minister. The gate features traditional stone construction with architectural elements reflecting Rajput and Indo-Saracenic design, and it includes a prominent central clock tower. Today, it stands as one of Morbi’s heritage attractions, symbolising the city’s historical charm and cultural legacy.
